Wintertime in Elizabeth City, NC
Well it's finally here. As I write this blog post the winds are howling outside, the rain is coming down horizontally and my husband's deer hounds are buried deep into their dog houses. Old Man Winter is making a grand announcement that he is here to stay. No...we don't get snow like other parts of North Carolina. Not too often anyway. I guess it's because we live so close to the ocean but that's ok with me. I like to see snow once or twice a year in the Elizabeth City area and then I am satisfied. It's beautiful coming down and the kids love to romp in it while it's fresh but boy is it sloppy when it's melting and going away. It's also been a while since we've had a white Christmas. They just don't happen in northeast NC too often. Is this our lucky year? We'll see I guess. Ok...it's time for a cup of hot chocolate. Have one yourself as you wind down after a long stressful day at work. Until next time...enjoy the beautiful Elizabeth City winter days!
